Working as part of the finance team reporting to the Senior AP Analyst. Ensuring efficient payment and reconciliation of creditors’ ledger.

• Finance background
• Must have experience in a monthly accounts process relevant to the role
• Good understanding of ledger structures
• Ideally worked in professional services environment

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working closely with the Billing and Credit Control Teams. Dealing with accurate allocation of remittance advices and posting of accounting entries to the practice management (accounting) system relating to the matching of multi-currency payments received either by foreign cheque / draft or direct transfer into the UK.

• Clearance search, assessing prospects of registering a trade mark and legal risk of using an unregistered mark
• Registration prosecution; negotiating or coordinating negotiation on rights transfer
• Domain name dispute resolution proceeding
• Specific day to day work include reviewing client’s product packaging, identifying IP issues and proposing a brand protection strategy
• Client management and team management, namely communicating directly with clients, understanding their problems/requests, advising on strategies / solutions, implementing the strategy, once agreed with the client
• Supervising the team (secretary and paralegal) to deliver the work

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in trade mark field in IP consulting company or law firm as trademark attorney
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese
• Other critical aspects include:
  - Interpersonal skills
  - Cross-cultural sensitivity and case/client management skills
  - Case analytical capabilities
  - Communications and presentation

• Advising and advocating clients in civil actions or other non-contentious IP cases
• Attending, pursuing or providing all necessary assistances in criminal IP enforcement actions through PSBs, Prosecutors and Courts
• Taking responsibility for direct communications with clients and third parties
• Supervising and supporting the work of junior staff and colleagues

• Drafting patent infringement analysis
• Representing clients to attend the patent invalidation proceedings (e.g. oral hearing proceeding )
• Representing clients to attend court hearings for patent litigations

• Representing clients to attend patent administrative actions

• Patent attorney qualification (or dual qualified in lawyer and patent attorney)
• Technical background in engineering and electronics
• Good standard of English and German
• At least 3-6 years of experience in in-house role or private practice
• Ideally have experience in developing business or working directly with clients independently.

We are looking for a paralegal who has a genuine interest in IP, to support colleagues in fee earning work, assist in cases, undertake litigation support duties and legal research, be responsive and reliable and provide practical advice in a professional and unstuffy manner.

The successful candidate will have very good attention to detail, excellent legal research and problem solving skills, be expected successfully to manage his or her own workload with supervision and accurately record time. The position would suit someone willing and able to develop excellent general IP knowledge, communicate clearly and effectively and enjoy working in a team.

The candidate should have handled both contentious and non-contentious matters such as advisory work.

Previous paralegal experience preferred

Education to degree level or equivalent

• IP lawyer or patent attorney (or dual qualified).
• If lawyer, the candidate should have a science degree ideally in electronics OR extensive experience in a technology sector such as electronic components, semiconductors, telecoms, or computer science.
• If patent attorney, the candidate should have experience in commercialization of technology or licensing.
• The candidate should have handled both contentious and non-contentious matters such as advisory work.
• Good written English, spoken English is a plus.
• At least 3-6 years of experience in in-house role or private practice.
• The candidate should ideally have experience in developing business or working directly with clients independently.
• - The candidate should either be based in Shenzhen, or if in another city, be willing to travel to Shenzhen several days a week. Regular travel to Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other cities is required.

• Deep familiarity with technologies in the ICT sector, in particular telecoms, semiconductors or electronics, the ideal candidate would have both a science degree and relevant working experience.
• Experience in technology licensing, venturing or commercialization.
• Extensive knowledge of leading companies and institutions in the ICT sector in China.
• An ability to independently research business opportunities, build networks and conduct marketing activities.
• The knowledge of patents is preferable but legal / patent qualification is not essential.
• Strong communication skills, with good written English. Good spoken English is also preferred.

• admitted to practice in Vietnam as lawyer or IP attorney;
• Good understanding of the practice at the NOIP
• Ability to deal with foreign clients independently;
• Must work well in a team;
